APPENDIX J Brief Strobic Phototherapy Assessment Questionnaire (Breiling, 1996) Objective: To assess the subject’s individual response to various wavelengths of Strobic light. Before any assessment establish if the patient has any photo-sensitivity issues or are taking photo-sensitising drugs. Should this be the case then do not proceed with any treatment without consultation without the patient’s medical doctor’s advice. People that suffer from photo- sensitive seizures cannot undergo Strobic Phototherapy. The information below is a standard assessment as advised by to Dr. Vazquez. 1. Seat the patient in front of the Lumatron with their eyes about 18 inches from the light. 2. Ask the subject to close their eyes. 3. Set the flicker rate to 14 for the initial session. 4. For each of the seven colours: a. Ask the subject to open their eyes. b. Say “this colour is called _________.” Do not spend more than two minutes on each colour, or the results will be adversely affected. c. Ask the following questions and briefly record the response. 1. What reaction do you have to this colour? 2. What does it look like in terms of colours seen, movement, and other appearances? 3. What is your bodily experience while looking at his colour and where do you feel it? 4.
