Numerous highly intricate steps are necessary before a shower toilet is fully assembled. Let’s take a look behind the scenes at the highly efficient assembly line for the elegant shower toilet AquaClean Mera Classic. ← TheAquaClean shower toilets are manufactured on modern assembly lines at Geberit’s Swiss plant in Rapperswil-Jona. Several trucks loaded with shower toilets leave the Swiss plant in Rapperswil-Jona each day. Since 2011, Geberit has been manufacturing the AquaClean shower toi- lets here in various models and configur- ations, including the model Mera Classic, which has been available since April. Around 80 employees work at the site in as- sembly and logistics in a two-shift system, including on Saturdays when required. “For the final assembly of the shower toilets, we use a production approach that enables a high degree of flexibility with regard to mar- ket demand and also includes comprehen- sive quality assurance,” explains Karl Zah- ner, Managing Director of Geberit Apparate AG. Each shower toilet with all its compo- nents is thoroughly examined, and the pro- cess and test data is stored together with the corresponding serial number of the ap- pliance. “We can therefore see at any time when a shower toilet was being worked on and by whom,” adds Karl Zahner. Efficient processes and quality assurance There are 22 individual steps before an AquaClean Mera Classic is fully assembled. Each step requires a great deal of finesse due to the fact that the assembly process is challenging and involves a lot of small parts.
