23 CHAPTER 3 RESEARCH METHDOLOGY This chapter presents research methodology of the three factors (product positioning, content variety, product uniqueness) and perceived popularity of Tik Tok. This chapter will be conducted on the following order. 3.1 Research Population 3.2 Research Sample 3.3 Research Instrument 3.4 Data Collection 3.5 Data Analysis 3.1 Research Population The research population of the study mainly targeted at male and female Tik Tok users aged above 18 years old. They have to use Tik Tok app during 10 September 2018 to 10 October 2018. The research area is restricted in Beijing, China. Thus, the number of populations is unknown. 3.2 Research Sample Two hundred and twenty-five Tik Tok’s users aged above 18 years old and live in Beijing, of which 130 females and 95 males were chosen as the research sample.
