How to get there By car Zermatt is a car-free zone. If you travel by car you drive to Täsch and then take the train. The train journey from Täsch to Zermatt (takes 15 minutes). Please do not leave Täsch later than 3:30 p.m. Visit www.sbb.ch for more information on train connections. By train The railway station at Zermatt is easy and simple to get to by train. From Zermatt railway sta- tion, the valley station of Gornergrat Bahn is a 50 meters walk. Zermatt is fully pedestrianised. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from Täsch to the edge of Zermatt. There is a taxi service by every car park. Then you can either take the electric taxi or the free local bus to the Gornergrat Bahn valley station. Then by mountain train You buy your Igloo ticket at the Gornergrat Bahn valley station. From the Gornergrat Bahn railway valley station to Riffelberg station (around 30 minutes). On the Riffelberg you find HOTEL Riffelhaus (50 metres below Restaurant Riffelberg), the Igloo meeting place (“Treffpunkt”). Mountain railway tickets Please buy a return ticket to the station “Rotenboden” for the journey up the mountain from Zermatt with the Gornergrat Bahn. Although you need to get out at the Riffelberg station for the meeting point, we will then continue the journey with the Gornergrat Bahn for a further station. If you ski, the day passes for the respective day (arrival and / or departure day) are of course valid for the journey with the Gornergrat Bahn. The mountain railway tickets and any parking charges incurred are not included in any package.
