Arrived Saturday into San Jose with its new airport terminal. It was a windy 77 degrees at 9:30 p.m..

San Jose gets strong trade winds in the winter months

Trade winds make it inland to San Jose, the the Boeing 757 had a rocky ride in on approach, one bump firmly planted the stewardess right on her butt. (luckily she only broke a nail).	Radisson includes an overnight stay in the Hotel Real Intercontinental, along with a complementary breakfast and next day volcano tour.

Volcano Tour Enroute to Puerto Caldera for Embarkation	Poas
Sunday took a tour to the Poas Volcano at 8,000 ft. Most of the volcanoes in Costa Rica are shrouded in clouds, even though it is a clear blue sky. The caldera was steaming in a jasmine color from the sulfur, the temperature was 40 degrees cooler than the tropical forest below. After a brief lunch for some tradition Costa Rican cuisine, our tour continued on through some strawberry, teak, avocado, banana and flower plantations. Teak, which is grown for export and is know for its straight growth, is used for all the utility poles in Costa Rica. Sunday, also happened to be the presidential election day (42 candidates), so we also got to visit a "third-world" polling station.
