Paris Tour de France

Thunderstorms in Chicago area. Regionals get ground stop so the international has priority. Quickly decided to take an Uber which would not make international flight to Newark and then to Paris. So spent two hours in Uber on hold with United changing flights so that went from Chicago to Frankfurt to Paris. Was an economy plus and then got upgraded last minute to business class. Last minute upgrade prior takeoff was able to go from Economy Plus to Business Class (really lucked out). Flight was moderately uncomfortable and trying to lay flat and sleep. Dinner and breakfast. Hot tea. Immigration in Frankfurt was just passport. Nobody asked to see DPLU QR code. In Paris there was no immigration. Was going to try to take train from airport to Gare de Lyon, but too complicated (and Tour de France caused closures) so took taxi. Booked Paris courtyard by Marriott. Chose for proximity to Gare de Lyon train station. 211 (shower temp broke) then moved to 216. Room was not ready when I arrived at 9:30 am, so changed into cooler clothes (temps in the 90's) and started my Tour de France Sunday (last stage of race finished in Paris). After race decided to walk back and it took 2 hours from race to Gare Lyon.
