Grischa Hotel Davos Platz

The Grischa Hotel is a wonderful modern hotel conveniently located across from the Davos Platz train station. The local Coop grocery store is located just above and over from the Grischa, and the cable car station is on the other side of the train station (you need to go under the tracks via tunnel to get to the other side).

Suite 216

Suite 216 is a very modern, comfortable room with a single bed.

The feather pillow is awful, but the mattress is comfortable. Of course, like every other European hotel, it comes with a uncomfortable duvet. First thing I do when I get to a hotel room is to remove the duvet insert, and just use the sheet. This is especially important in the hot summer.

Bathroom

The bathroom is modern and functional.

image

Room

The room is functionally layed out, and even comes with a small display for purchasing cosmetics.

image

Windows

The windows open tilting in. There is noise outside prior midnight (unsure if it's from other rooms or the patio).

image

TV

The TV is movable and functional. The smart TV can connect to your smartphone.

image

Bathroom Sink

The sink is functional, and looks great, but I'm not a big fan of the flat sink, which tends to splatter water. Unsure if it was installed with a good looking design or easy cleaning for the room staff, but it is pretty useless as a sink.

image

Towels

There was only one towel supplied. I had to go down to the front desk to request another towel, which was delivered 45 minutes later to the room.

image

image

Outlets

Plenty of outlets. Unfortunately, the cluster design does not allow multiple plugs to be used at one time.

image

Room Refrigerator

There was a room refrigerator, which had a mini-bar menu for purchase items, but it was empty.

image

Bathroom Switches

There is one on and off light switch, and one lower fan louver button. The fan did not work.

image

Blow Drier

The blow drier looked good, but did not deliver much blowing force.

image

Bathroom Fan Vent

There was no bathroom fan, but rather a vent with a louver which you could turn on or off (I looked at it and it was permanently open. There was no suction or fan to remove moist air from bathroom.

image

Empty Water Bottle

Confused as to why there was a empty water bottle, I asked the front desk, which indicated that the room occupant needed to fill the bottle with water from the bathroom facet.

image

Breakfast

The included breakfast buffet was amazing. One of the best I've seen in Switzerland.

Breakfast Cooked to Order

There is a chef for breakfast to prepare eggs, waffles, and other items.
