Arrival at Great Stirrup Cay

At Anchor

The ship arrived on schedule at the Private Island.

2,600 Tender Ashore

Waiting to Tender Passengers Ashore

Tendering more than 2,000 passengers took some time. After about an hour and a half, the there was "open" tender service. While you can eat at the Private Island, they serve the same food the do aboard ship, so I avoid the crowds and eat before I leave the ship. Drink service is available at the island, but be prepared to wait.

Private Island Not So Private

Beach

When you're sharing a small strip of sand with more than 2,000 people, the beach isn't so private. If you walk about five minutes in either direction, you can avoid most of the crowds.

Kids Like the Private Island

Beach

Most of the people on the island seemed to like it. It's a good time to get off of the ship, and enjoy an afternoon at the beach, play volleyball, swim, and just enjoy the sunny weather.

Private Island

Sea View

The Private Island isn't big, but is large enough for the ships passengers. Disney has a Private Island that has it's own pier, so passengers don't have to tender ashore.

Sushi at Bamboo

Sunset

After another beautiful sunset, I had dinner at Bamboo, at the sushi bar. Since this was the last night aboard ship, I wanted to be sure to have the best food available, and that was sushi. Getting reservations the last night, for the times you want, are virtually impossible. There was a most excellent passenger talent show this last evening, a event I will not miss on any future cruises.
