Sunrise

Sun Coming Up Behind Bora Bora

Since my adjustment to gaining five hours, I awoke before sunrise, and sat on my deck watching the Sun as it climbed over the volcanic peaks to illuminated the resort.

Breakfast Poolside

Early Breakfast

After a brief visit to the internet access room (the connection was down), and took some https://cruisingreview.com/cruise-reviews/photos of the resort, then had a nice breakfast at the restaurant Te Vairoa which is just above a reflecting pool, which draws your attention to the pool, the beach and the lagoon view of Bora Bora.

Cocktails and Dinner

Tropical Drinks

Earnest the bartender made some great drinks before dinner, and tried to teach me some Tahitian words and then we went for a lovely dinner at the restaurant which overlooks the reflecting pool. At night, the underwater lights along with the lights which illuminate the tropical plants produce a very romantic scene. All of the guests (except for myself) at the resort were couples and a few honeymooners. I was lucky to find a few single people that worked at the resort.

The Full Moon Skirts the Storm Clouds

Sunset

The evening produced a beautiful full Moon which was playing hide and seek with the clouds all evening. A Moon rise in Bora Bora is like something you'd see in the movies. It slowly creeps up the volcanic slopes and then illuminates the lagoon below. Since the sand on the lagoon bottom is pure white, you get a glowing effect which can only be seen when the Moon is brightest.
