ZRH Zurich Airport Hyatt Regency and Conference Rooms

Our favorite and cost-effective hotel for Zurich airport is the Hyatt Regency. With modern style, comfort, and access, this is a great one or two night stay before or after your Swiss adventure.

I had the pleasure of also booking a meeting room for a business meeting (500 CHF for half a day) I had planned and was pleasantly surprised how organized the staff and rooms are for meetings. There was a big screen TV with HDMI access and a flip chart for drawing (no white-board). There was a coffee machine, water kettle for tea, and still/sparkling water options. The large conference table was big enough for at least 8 people.

Hyatt offers a expensive breakfast buffet, that I tried once and was really disappointed. Since it is not included with the basic room rate, it's not worth paying for.

Just 5 minutes away is a huge Migros store, where you can buy anything for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks. That's the great part about staying at the Hyatt Regency.

Get a park view if you don't like staring at another building a few meters away.

Rooms are very comfortable with AC, a refrigerator, coffee machine with kettle for tea, and generous amounts of desk space. Everything is well-designed and layout out.

There is a nice gym and also a on-site spa/sauna.

The Hyatt Regency is located in The Circle (which is a group of modern buildings and parking next to the main airport).

Just outside of the Hyatt Regency is a wonderful park (yes, at the airport) if you need to stretch your legs.

On the downside, there is something wrong with booking through the Hyatt App.

Multiple times now, I have booked two rooms at once only to be followed by lots of hassles, strange overbilling, and eroneous reservation upgrades.

If you book two rooms, the App (or automated reservations algorithm) will automatically bump up the occupants to 3 or more per room, which also bumps up your room rate, and will automatically request a rollaway bed (assuming it an extra cost to add to room - but unsure what they are doing).

Instead of trying to figure out why I get these modified reservation emails and spend time resolving it at the front desk at check-in, it's better to cancel the reservation, and then just book one room at a time separately.

This method will save you at least 100 CHF per room. Also I recommend that you don't book any children, since the room rate also goes up with that selection. Just book as adults.

You can cancel any reservation up to one day prior to visit.

Hyatt is not alone with this issue of booking more than one room at a time, so I advise to just avoid booking multiple rooms per one reservation. In this day and age, it's inconceivable how programmers don't catch this, unless it's an intentional rip-off.
