My favorite resort in Europe is hands-down the Riffelalp Resort at 2222 (elevation) on the Gornergrat mountain high above Zermatt.The staff, breakfast buffet, service, suites, and view is outstanding.The view of the iconic Matterhorn is only a breath away.The spa has recently been renewed and the suites are as lovely as ever, with cozy Swiss style throughout.Everything works in this classic Chalet-feel hotel.Located near the border of Italy, the cuisine is Italian and Swiss.For this stay on the first of August it was Swiss Day. The resort offered a BBQ buffet which was amazing. Sausages, beef filet, ribs, and other delicacies were grilled in a BBQ called the Egg, which is a combo smoker and cooker. The results were very tasty. Some of the best grilled meat I've had in Europe, and just about anywhere else.
