Hilton Dalaman Turky

Booked the Hilton Dalaman all inclusive resort via the Hilton Honors app. Noticed a significant price increase if you book an adult and child in a room (for a two night stay it was $1,000 more).

On check-in, I brought this to the attention of the staff, and they told me to cancel my reservation through Hilton, and re-book through them. The process was a huge waste of time and took over an hour, but saved me $1000.

From now on, I'll only book adults into a hotel, since they surcharge for a child guest. What a rip-off.

Fortunate for me Ugar B at the front desk helped out, and spend more than an hour to make things right.

This is an expensive resort for Turkish standards.

I got my room upgraded to a wonderful corner suite (it was huge).

The all-inclusive breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet was good, probably the best buffet on the trip, but was really crowded at dinner. Resort drinks and ice cream was included, but not worth the price. If you don't drink alcohol, or gorge yourself on buffet food, it isn't worth the extra money. The restaurant staff is overworked. They always greet you with a smill, but clearly not very happy.

The resort has lots of pools, a wonderful beach and pier, with lots of space. It has separate lake (river) villas and has some mosquitoes at sunset (they spray for insect control daily).

It was 40-45 C there in July, so very hot.

This was the same week that Rhodes Greece has it's huge fires due to the lack of rain and heat.

Aside from checkin, the rest of our stay was nice.

The breakfast buffet was one of the best on the trip, and the hand made Turkish bread was wonderful.

The restaurant has made-to-order sections for the bread, salad, dessert and other culinary feasts.

The views are nice, but no sunset view from the resort.
