Riffelalp Resort located above Zermatt My favorite resort in Europe is hands-down the Riffelalp Resort at 2222 (elevation) on the Gornergrat mountain high above Zermatt.The staff, breakfast buffet, service, suites, and view is outstanding.The view of the iconic Matterhorn is only a breath away.The spa has recently been renewed and the suites are as lovely as ever, with cozy Swiss style throughout.Everything works in this classic Chalet-feel hotel.Located near the border of Italy, the cuisine is Italian and Swiss.Lots of trails for hiking are located right out the door of the hotel.
