Sorrento This will be the second time that I've visited the quaint cliffside village of Sorrento. We dropped anchor late morning and tender service was available to shore. Located in Campania, it is across the bay from Naples and Pompeii, and located at the south-eastern end of the Circumvesuviana rail line. In the distance next to Naples, Mt. Vesuvius can be seen and at the other side in the distance you can see the island of Capri. Hydrofoil and ferry service can connect you to Naples, Amalfi, Positano, Capri and Ischia. Sorrento is known for the production of limoncello, an alcoholic digestif made from lemon rinds, alcohol, water and sugar.
