Star Princess to Alaska - Disembarkation at Port of Seattle - Summary of Alaska Cruise

Alaska Cruise Summary

Improve:

Star Princess needs a juice bar - something for blended fruit, that is a healthy option compared to all of the high sugar content, process junk, that is currently served.

International Cafe: Poor flow management - crowding of people just before entrance of buffet is really bad. With modern-day ship CFD software, this should never happen. Of course people want their coffee or tea with meals, which leads to lots of people blocking the way to the Eatery. Even worse, the crowding results in people running into eachother and dropping food on plates gotten at the International Buffet.

American Diner: Failed experiment. Get rid of it. Just open up the space for more seating which is needed for the buffet. With the beautiful Alaskan coast moving by, people want to see it, not get stuck in some big sit-down restaurant in the lower decks. Again, poor

design.

Announcements in the Eatery: The really loud announcements from Dan the cruise director were really annoying. Why is the volume so loud ?

Paid Internet: I had 4 devices, first two connections worked, the rest did not. Awful service. Starlink as a concept is great, just poor delivery.

Art Sales: Relentless promotion of the stupid art stuff. Get rid of it.

Food Room Service: Not easy to use, and lack of options prevented us from using it. Just get rid of the service.

Food Quality: Overall fantastic.

HAIKAL our room steward in 11211 on the 31 May - 7 June cruise was amazing. He was always friendly and did fantastic work.

App: The app needs lots of work. Trying to buy services on the app is awful.

Internet Starlink Paid Service: Awful. Bought 4 devices, and only the first two device connections worked. Upload and download speeds average to poor. Only a basic upgrade to system they had before (at least on a ship with 4,000 passengers).

Excursions: Easier, better, and lower price to book excursion from shore based operator. Simple to do, since they all have sales kiosks at the dock in port when the ship arrives.
