St. Maarten Our first island destination was St. Maarten (Dutch) and St. Martin (French). We landed at Phillipsburg on the Dutch side, and tendered into the dock. The water here is a beautiful azure blue, and very clear. It is also very hot and the Sun is quite intense. If you want to get ashore early, you need to get a tender ticket. Otherwise, you have to wait a few hours when the tender service is open (no ticket needed).
