Saturday in Aspen

It started as a nice sunny day in the morning, but clouds starting coming in a bit later. In the morning, we ate at Ajax Tavern then headed up the mountain.

Cablecar

Silver Queen Gondola

Always use your Aspen/Snowmass Discount card. I forgot, and spent about another $25 for the three of us for a lift pass up the mountain.

Condo living room in the morning. Very light and airy.

The fireplace and video screen on the wall. Favorite channel for the area, Plum TV.

View from our porch to the Aspen Mountain cablecars.

View of the lobby and reception area of The Gant.

My two travel buddies, Renee and Sarah.

Pepe, all ready for hiking.

Taking the gondola up the mountain.

We did the 1 hour nature trail / hike. It was beautiful, but the weather started to close in a bit.

Sarah and Pepe hiking the trail.

The last part of the trail is going up a service road. Not a huge incline, but enough to wind you at 11,000 ft.

Trying out the hoola-hoops at the top.

Headed down to the main station at the base of the mountain.

Appetizers and martinis at Ajax Tavern.

Lunch at Ajax Tavern.

Pepe with some of the seafood bouquet.

Pepe drinking a PepeTini.

Dinner at Cache Cache.

New York strip steak at Cache Cache. Amazing.

Sarah and Renee with their chocolate martini and chocolate cake.

Some of the prices at Cache Cache.

Cache Cache

New York Strip Steak

The dining at Cache Cache was wonderful. It was very crowded, and we at in a courtyard type space (outdoors but enclosed by buildings). The food there was amazing. Service great. If you go to Aspen, you have to eat there.

Evening

Fireside

The girls went dancing and I stayed in to build a fire. They ask you to only build a fire on odd days, to keep the smoke down within the village. Perfect ending to the day.

Saturday - End of Day

Saturday was a full day. From going up the mountain hiking, to eating and shopping all around town. The food selections in Aspen are amazing. Two favorite places: Matsuhisa and Cache Cache. For appetizers, Ajax Tavern.
